D3. Implementation and Impact of the Bologna Process on Political Science
Chair: Bob Reinalda (Radboud University Nijmegen)
Implementation of the Bologna Process has resulted in an official but not very critical stocktaking process in 2005 including national reports on three of the ten action lines: quality assessment, the two cycles (BA and MA), and academic recognition. These reports are dealing with national developments in general. This panel looks for contributions about the impact on the discipline itself, either at the level of a department (i.e. within a university), or at national level (i.e. referring to national guidelines developed by professional and/or governmental bodies). This panel is particularly interested in contributions which may add up to a future and more systematic comparison of developments in political science in various European countries. It does not restrict itself to the three actions lines mentioned. Contributions with a more reflective approach on the Bologna Process and its consequences for Political Science are also welcome, since general positions in this field - such as the basic requirements of a BA in Political Science, adopted in 2003 - are still rare, let alone more philosophical positions.
