epsNet Plenary Conference
22-23 June 2007
University of Ljubljana, Slovenia
Europe: Integration and/or Fragmentation?
The European Political Science Network is dedicated to the promotion of political science in Europe. Its conferences provide a discussion forum on the discipline and teaching of political science. Given epsNet’s aims of improving the visibility of the discipline and providing a regular state of the discipline review, paper givers are invited to structure their proposals in such ways that they contribute to insights with regard to teaching the chosen topic and/or the state of the art of the topic within political science. For each Panel, the three best paper givers will be invited to present their papers. Other papers of high quality will be tabled.
The 2007 general conference theme is Europe: Integration and/or Fragmentation? This is divided into three subthemes:
- Europe’s Citizens and Civil Society
- Internal and External Security
- Organizing and Governing the State
The conference has a special section on Political Science and the Bologna Process and also provides an Intensive Seminar offering training for first-time university teachers in political science.
The detailed programme is available here.
The Conference convenors are: Michelle Cini (University of Bristol), Miro Haček (University of Ljubljana) and Bob Reinalda (Radboud University Nijmegen). The Conference coordinator is Cirila Toplak (University of Ljubljana)
Paper proposals (of 300 words plus panel number) should be sent to papers07@epsnet.org, not later than 10 March 2007.
More Information and instructions for the Intensive Teaching Seminar are given here.
The conference call includes a call for nominating candidates for the epsNet Innovative Teaching Award of 2,500 Euro plus 500 Euro for the winner to attend the conference. Details are available here.
